The 12th Prof. Mamoun Inter-University Football Competition concluded on 12 December 2025, with eight universities competing across four days of matches at UMST's Rwanda Campus.
The University of Rwanda's C team were crowned champions, defeating ASOME 3–1 in a closely contested final. The tournament was dedicated to innocent children affected by Sudan's war, and the event carried a powerful message of solidarity, unity, and peace beyond sport.
Professor Homeida addressed players and spectators, stating that the competition represents "the power of friendship and sport to rise above conflict." The event strengthened inter-university relations and drew significant community support across Kigali.
