BSc Medical Laboratory Science — 4 years | Active — Rwanda & Sudan
Specialised programs for diagnostic technology and biomedical innovation. Students are trained in the analytical and technical skills essential to modern clinical laboratory practice, equipping them to work across hospital laboratories, research institutions, and public health settings.
Year 1 — Foundations: Human anatomy and physiology, introductory biochemistry, cell biology, and laboratory safety. Year 2 — Core Laboratory Sciences: Clinical chemistry, haematology, blood banking and transfusion science, and medical microbiology. Year 3 — Advanced Diagnostics: Immunology, clinical parasitology, histopathology, and laboratory instrumentation and quality control. Year 4 — Applied Practice: Clinical placement across hospital laboratory departments, research project, and professional practice in diagnostic and public health laboratory settings.
Minimum Grade A or B in core subjects. IGCSE/GCSE O-Levels: minimum 7 subjects required; A-levels preferred. Biology and Chemistry: minimum Grade B required. Strong English proficiency required. Candidates with backgrounds in sciences or health-related fields are encouraged to apply.
