UMST Hosts IRCAD Africa Medical Camp Students

The University of Medical Sciences and Technology (UMST) welcomed 20 high school students taking part in the IRCAD Africa Medical Camp for a campus visit aimed at introducing them to medical education opportunities in Rwanda.

During the visit, the students toured UMST's state-of-the-art facilities, including the Clinical Skills Laboratory, where they observed practical training and learned how simulation supports medical education. They also interacted with faculty members and gained a firsthand look at student life and the University's learning environment.

The highlight of the visit was a session with the Vice Chancellor, who encouraged the students to dream big and pursue careers in healthcare with dedication and purpose. He spoke about the importance of compassion, hard work, and continuous learning in building successful medical careers, inspiring the students to see themselves as future healthcare professionals.

The visit gave the students a better understanding of what it means to study medicine at UMST while reinforcing the University's commitment to inspiring and preparing the next generation of healthcare leaders.

UMST is proud to support initiatives such as the IRCAD Africa Medical Camp that encourage young people to explore careers in medicine and contribute to the future of healthcare in Rwanda and beyond.
