Dr. Randa Yahia Nagemeldeen Ali, a 2012 UMST graduate, has emerged as one of Sudan's most prominent public health leaders — serving as the country's first female Health Ministry Spokesperson and later directing emergency operations centres during the country's crisis.
Dr. Randa's career has taken her to the highest levels of public health leadership, advocating for communities at the intersection of medicine, policy, and emergency response. She reflected on the foundation that shaped her: "UMST doesn't just teach medicine — it teaches purpose, resilience, and leadership. Those lessons guided me through every challenge I faced."
Her story is one of exceptional achievement in conditions of extraordinary adversity, and stands as an inspiration to UMST students everywhere.
