UMST University has been ranked first among Sudan's private universities and second overall in the AD Scientific Index 2025 — a globally recognised ranking system that evaluates universities based on research output and academic impact.
Professor Mamoun Homeida responded to the recognition with characteristic humility and determination: "This recognition is a testament to the resilience and dedication of our researchers. Even in the most challenging of times, UMST continues to make significant contributions to science and knowledge."
The ranking places UMST among a select group of Sudanese institutions recognised for the quality and reach of their academic research — an achievement of particular significance given the extraordinary challenges faced by the university and its staff in recent years.
