Dr. Mushtaq Mahyoob Saleh, Dean of Biomedical Engineering at UMST, delivered a keynote address at Rwanda's 3rd International Nursing Day Symposium, exploring the transformative role of emerging technologies in healthcare and medical education.
Dr. Saleh presented on the applications of artificial intelligence in diagnostics, virtual reality in clinical training simulation, and 3D bioprinting in surgical preparation and medical device development. His address highlighted how these technologies are not future possibilities but present-day tools already changing health systems globally.
More than 300 participants attended the two-day event, which brought together nurses, physicians, educators, and technology specialists from across Rwanda and the wider region.
